I have a simple question; Who in the United States banned house-to-house preaching for JW? Who told JW not to go from house to house?

Jehovahs people are very organized in what they do and how they preach…we do not pray for the spirit to lead us to a certain door as some do. We cannot read hearts and must give everyone an opportunity…or a fair go at least of some spiritual food.

When there is a hurricane we do not go out but instead bunker down as the rest of the world does…when their are floods we make preparations to combat those devastating waters..we do not go swimming or surf boarding amongst it…..when there are raging uncontrollable fires we take cover for the duration……when there is a unknown virus circulating the world that nobody seems to know anything about and all reports from so called health experts paint as the plague ….we bunker down and try to not infect or spread this unknown virus and take precautions just as all our neighbors and In fact the world does and did…and take care with our own loved ones just as the rest of the world does.

As you well know we are a organized people and don’t do things like the preaching work in a helter  Skelton  manner..we are 8 1/2 million strong ..a huge people from many cultures and world wide…so hence we need to have a earthly captain at the head of the ship so as not to act in a irresponsible manner in these sorts of conditions …As you well know The GB made that decision and the sake of peace and safety all witnesses followed thru…..why do you ask sereko…have you started going door to door…may I ask who told  YOU to stop..or did you listen to mere men and not follow what in your dear heart was right…..and follow Christ lead in the preaching work..at that and this time …..are you now doing the door to door work.????…and if you are not..may I ask…again….WHO TOLD YOU TO STOP..?

By the recommendation and insistence of the United States Government. Are you suggesting the Watchtower violate those instructions like the Catholic, Evangelical, Protestants Orthodox, etc. do to get people back inside their churches and MEGA churches with no regards to safety, and possibly, death? Shouldn't church leaders think about the "safety" of its members? Like for the safety and welfare of our members to reduce the risk of infecting a dangerous virus that causes death, we will continue with ZOOM until conditions improve, and Oh! Yeah, those religions don't go door to door, either, to infect the public.

As of recent, there might be other folks coming to the doors of people that are not Mormon or JWs.

There are several local churches that go around placing flyers on doors or vehicles to encourage people to attend church. That has gone for decades in the USA. My local church did that for years until it closed its doors. But at some point, the lack of trust will become an issue with all Christian denominations. People won't know who is a real minister or a fake one. That has already begun with some unscrupulous people pretending to be JWs.

You provided two interesting answers. Somehow they are opposed.

If the GB gave that command to stop preaching, does that instruction fall within what was announced in the WT magazines, that "God's organization will give saving instructions that will not be reasonable from a human point of view"?

On the other hand, if this order came from secular authority, could it not be interpreted as a trap of Satan carrying out his will through the rulers of this world and as an attempt to stop the global work of preaching in its basic form?

Has the preaching work stopped? The last time I looked, JWs are still hard at work evangelizing the gospel of Christ as instructed. Have you seen or heard something different in your land?

In Jesus time, the threat of death didn't stop true Christians. Do you believe modern Christians will soon reject Christianity in order to save their lives? I guess to those Christians, they have no faith in God and don't belong in the same church of Christ.

It could, if this pandemic wasn't worldwide. However, as stated above, has Satan really stopped Christianity? For the moment, he hasn't. That doesn't mean he won't turn government against "all" religion, since his move is to make religion hypocritical and dysfunctional. That he is doing very well.

What are the Bishops of Ukraine complaining about with the Vatican POPE? That he hasn't forcefully condemned Russia for its invasion. The same typical stance the Vatican took with Germany, with a slight difference, the Vatican capitulated in order to retain its authority in Europe. That's why the Vatican had no problem seeing crimes against the Jews, Bible Students, Jehovah's Witnesses and other Christian sects it disagreed with that were tortured or killed by the Third Reich. Why should they. The Vatican has blood in its hands with the Holy Wars.

This is the kind of dysfunction that will infuriate governments. The Orthodox in the East, The Muslims in the Middle East, The Christians in Asia, so forth and so on.

If it is true that "true Christians" go from house to house, literally, with good news, then yes, your work is stopped.

According to quotes bellow GB lead a double game. They can't be trusted.

Can you be trusted? :)

However, it is only among Jehovah’s Witnesses that virtually all, young and old, male and female, participate year in, year out, in the house-to-house ministry. It is only Jehovah’s Witnesses who truly endeavor to reach all the inhabited earth with the Kingdom message, in obedience to the prophetic command at Matthew 24:14.

Because of the effectiveness of the house-to-house ministry, opposers in many lands have tried to stop it. In order to gain official respect for their right to preach from door to door, Jehovah’s Witnesses have appealed to government officials. Where necessary, they have gone to court in order to legally establish the right to spread the good news in this manner. (Phil. 1:7) And where repressive governments have persisted in forbidding such activity, Jehovah’s Witnesses have at times simply done it in a less conspicuous manner or, if necessary, used other means to reach people with the Kingdom message.

Although radio and television broadcasts have been used to spread the Kingdom message, Jehovah’s Witnesses recognize that the personal contact made possible by house-to-house calls is far more effective. It affords better opportunity to answer the questions of individual householders and to search out deserving ones. (Matt. 10:11) That is one of the reasons why, in 1957, the Watch Tower Society sold radio station WBBR in New York.

Web Sites of “Jehovah’s Witnesses”: Consider, for example, some Internet sites set up by individuals who claim to be Jehovah’s Witnesses. They invite you to visit their sites to read experiences posted by others who claim to be Witnesses. You are encouraged to share your thoughts and views about the Society’s literature. Some give recommendations about presentations that could be used in the field ministry. These sites offer chat rooms for individuals to connect to, allowing live communication with others, similar to talking on the telephone. They often point you to other sites where you can have on-line association with Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world. But can you tell for certain that these contacts have not been planted by apostates?

11 Having association via the Internet may not be consistent with the recommendation found at Ephesians 5:15-17. - https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/201999403

No, since there are other avenues for preaching. Therefore, householders are NOT denied that spiritual work.

Actually, the only one playing games is you by misrepresenting the facts. The facts are, the preaching work continues regardless how you want to manipulate the Watchtower literature.

The question a visitor should ask, can a manipulator of Watchtower literature and facts be trusted? That is a burden that should way heavily on former Jehovah's Witnesses. Finding different excuses to criticize the Watchtower. Remember, Just like Jesus didn't allow such criticism sway his conviction, neither does the Watchtower.

JWs are not pushing away people from learning about God and Christ, former Jehovah's Witnesses are doing that. This is why I express it too, @Witness since she believes she still holds the foundation of Christianity within. She is wrong!

A Christian with cracks on that foundation is no Christian.

"1 Co 11:17-22

For, adds he, there must be heresies also; not only quarrels, but factions, and perhaps such corrupt opinions as strike at the foundation of Christianity, and all sound religion. Note, No marvel there should be breaches of Christian love in the churches, when such offences will come as shall make shipwreck of faith and a good conscience."

You only need to look deep into this website, with TWO forums in particular. JW closed forum, and JW open forum. They both defile the teachings of Christ. What good does it do to have your outer garments cleansed when your heart and mind are spoiled. It makes no sense to the readers, nor does it promote trust in God, when they themselves fail to do so.

Here, Jehovah's Witnesses and former Jehovah’s Witnesses are equally guilty. In any case, former Jehovah's Witnesses plant themselves as "light" after darkness. You only need to see there is NO light resonating to know that the person is an apostate. People can tell by their manipulation and deception. Especially those that are so vested in disparaging their former institution. Even those that say they are active members resonate no substance equal to former members.

So, apostates have a tail, and they cannot hide from God, just like Adam and Eve couldn't.

There are many pretenders out there, seen quite a lot during my debate days, the only recent group being the ones who preached that God sent COVID-19 as Judgment, these types are easily refuted.

That being said, the lure tactics, as mentioned, is not something they would normally do, so it is now isn't so much as a surprise when it comes from people from the EXJW community, granted the events of 2017 and onward were seemingly a foreshadowing.

@Srecko Sostar They haven't stopped preaching, from what I know they are secluded to letters and phone calls, the physical act of going from home to home ceased because of the rise of mandates and restrictions placed on all States, especially the Blue states. Outside of JWs, there were some who tried to preach without taking precaution, some caught COVID-19, even died from it, so to speak, however, it is noted that people can be ignorant and do not tread their steps wisely.

There is no ban, there are restrictions, then there are the laws in place, in which, if you forgotten, Christians show respect to some laws and the like in the land and or county they are in. Mind you, when counties place these things, everyone is abided by it until loosen. The ignorant paid the price for it though early on and became a systematic statistic.
