The court ruled that the non-profit association behind Jehovah’s Witnesses is guilty of inciting discrimination and hatred or violence against former members, reports the Belga news agency. “The Jehovah’s Witnesses’ shunning policy cuts to the very core of relationships, and the …

I was on a Facebook page earlier today and had the chance to give people information as to why world conditions are so bad and what was to happen in the future. A lady responded to me and agreed with my comment. Then she gave information about her 15 year old daughter that wants to become 'a man'. This lady is so distraught because no one will listen to her. The girl's school, the NHS, everyone, is saying let the girl make her own choice. This child is 15 years old. Her mum wants to do what is right. Everyone else just wants to follow the ways of the world and encourage this young girl to have a sex change. My biggest disappointment here is that I could not direct t…

Two years ago, Russian activist Vladimir Kara-Murza pointed out that Vladimir Putin’s Russia had more political prisoners than the USSR did when Andrey Sakharov began calling attention to them in the USSR in 1976 (rferl.org/a/activist-number-of-political-prisoners-in-russia-twice-what-it-was-in-ussr/30048022.html). In period since Kara-Murza made that calculation, Ellen Leafstedt of St. Antony’s College in Oxford says, the numbers of political prisoners in Russia have only increased and indeed continue to rise. In an article for the Riddle portal, she suggests that it is important to recognize their diversity (ridl.io/ru/nakazanie-bez-prestuplenija/). One can di…

Authorities are urging the Jehovah's Witnesses to contact them to get the ball rolling on the religious group's decision to join the national redress scheme for child sexual abuse survivors. The organisation says it will sign up because of new rules introduced by the federal government, which mean it would lose its charity status - and subsequent tax exemptions - for continuing to hold out. "Now that the law requires charities to join the scheme, Jehovah's Witnesses will comply," it said in a statement to AAP on Wednesday. "Jehovah's Witnesses believe that it is their responsibility before God to respect and co-operate with the authorities." A spokeswo…

18 The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” 20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body. I'm curious, what is the jw's view on this passage?

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/people/edinburgh-residents-targeted-with-handwritten-letters-from-child-members-of-jehovahs-witnesses-brand-the-move-sick-3153697 Residents in Leith who received handwritten letters through their door from Jehovah’s Witnesses members as young as ten-years-old have branded the move ‘sick’. It has emerged that residents in Leith and other areas of the city have been targeted by the group – notorious for door-stepping – by letters written in multiple languages. The man, who had also received a leaflet from the group, who claim to be the ‘one true faith’, said in his comments the move was “sick”. He added: “This is ind…

RNS) — A female Jehovah’s Witness has been sentenced to two years in a Russian prison for practicing her faith, marking the first time the country has imprisoned a woman since a 2017 ruling that declared the faith group “extremist.” Valentina Baranovskaya, 69, was sentenced Wednesday (Feb. 24) along with her son, Roman Baranovskiy, 46, who received a six-year sentence. “Today, Judge Elena Shcherbakova ruthlessly imprisoned a harmless, elderly woman and her son on baseless charges,” said Jarrod Lopes, spokesman for the Jehovah’s Witnesses. “The ruling was a mockery of the rule of law — both international human rights law as well as Russia’s constitution, which protect…

This is a video of a vhs tape I bought years ago. I thought it would be useful for some here who are interested in the social psychology of the times of Charles Darwin and the psychological levers he pulled to get acceptance for his ideas.

I think it should be embraced by those who are honest about themselves in relation to Jehovah and his son Jesus. What we want is a pattern of treatment for our own peculiar manifestation of symptoms, realizing that not everyone manifests the disease in the same manner. Those who balk at the term or fail to recognize a continual need for repeat treatments and external analysis of one's progress relative to the disease by others who likewise are keeping an eye on themselves for fear they too may be tempted are not what I'd call useful companions.

"Reviewing the 2020 Annual Meeting Part Three) For the first time on camera, a Governing Body member gets the Bible wrong merging two different stories about Jesus into one. And the for some reason, the holy spirit did not stop this error featuring as part of the most illustrious event in the Jehovah's Witness calendar."

Many claim the organization teaches "present truth", which obviously shows it has an expected expiration date. (John 15:16) Teachings expressed by its leaders as Truth, come and go, and are discarded when the need for another LIE shows itself. Well, the "proof of the pudding is in the eating", as they say. (I'm thinking primarily of "Beliefs Clarified") Interestingly, part of this scripture is found in the Wt article pictured below, which I didn't realize until I pulled the article on my own: “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits: they do not gather g…

Around 50-60 years after the completion of the second temple, Ezra left Babylon in company with approximately 1700 exiles, and returned to Jerusalem. His time in Jerusalem brought about a spiritual reformation, the turning back to God’s laws. This man was both a priest and a scribe, excelling in both accounts. (Ezra 7:6,10) God had decreed to all His priests that it was their duty to know and teach His decrees to the people. (Deut 33:10; Mal 2:4-7) Still, Ezra who was a direct descendant from Aaron, and apparently a close relative of Joshua - both high priests, was inspired by God to restore the knowledge of the law among His people, after the temple was rebuilt (E…

Russian authorities opened a criminal case this week against five Jehovah’s Witnesses on suspicion of “organizing and participating in the activities of an extremist organization” for allegedly promoting their namesake religious group, which is officially outlawed as an “extremist ideology” in Russia. Russia’s Investigative Committee, its main federal investigating body, announced the criminal case in a statement issued March 4. Five residents of the city of Syktyvkar, in Russia’s northwestern Komi Republic, allegedly “carried out active organizational actions aimed at continuation of the organization’s illegal activities and the involvement of new participants …

27 So the slaves of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow fine seed in your field? How, then, does it have weeds?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy, a man, did this.’y The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go out and collect them?’ 29 He said, ‘No, for fear that while collecting the weeds, you uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest season, I will tell the reapers: First collect the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them up; then gather the wheat into my storehouse.’”z - Mt. 13:27-30 We're not angels, and we could imagine we're wheat when we could be a bit on the we…

So this weeks watchtower study mentioned lemech Noah's father. And it got me wondering if Noah had siblings? And was his father alive when the flood came. Genesis 5:30 answers some questions. 30 After becoming father to Noah, Laʹmech lived for 595 years. And he became father to sons and daughters. 31 So all the days of Laʹmech amounted to 777 years, and then he died. It appears that Noah may have been the oldest of the siblings and since Laʹmech is said to have sons and daughters Noah would have had at least 2 sisters and 2 brothers. According to genesis 5:32 Noah became father to his 3 sons after the age of 500. So Laʹmech was around for their births. Genesis 7:11 stat…

[Moved from another place to avoid an off-topic discussion] Good question. I have wondered what the point was if we generally think that both of them have pretty much the same chance to repent and be resurrected to Paradise on earth. It has occurred to me that this person dying around the same time as Jesus, might be another indicator of the change in hope for Christians at the time, for which we partially depend upon Matthew 11:12 : (Matthew 11:12) From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of the heavens is the goal toward which men press, and those pressing forward are seizing it. The "truly I tell you today" verse could be another indicati…
