Just seen on YT. Here is a JW committee where a woman can also participate in decisions led by men. But that triggered another story i have heard. Imagine married couple. Wife is talented for music and singing. And she is looking forward to being able to be part of a choir to sing “theocratic” songs. The husband is looking forward to the same and they apply as volunteers. But one needs to pass a rehearsal in order to be a part of the choir. Unfortunately, the husband has no hearing at all and he drops out of the election. That means, neither wife has the opportunity to join the choir. ....... But there is a solution. The husband is talented at laying gypsum boards an…

A public talk titled "The World Has Ended; Millions Now Living May Never Die" was first delivered on February 24, 1918 in Los Angeles, California. Five weeks later, on March 31, 1918 the title was changed to indicate absolute certainty: "The World Has Ended; Millions Now Living Will Never Die." The public talk continued to be delivered under that same title until 1925. At a 1931 Bible Student assembly in Columbus, Ohio Rutherford proposed a new name for the organization, Jehovah's witnesses, to differentiate them from the proliferation of other groups that followed Russell's teachings. Joseph Franklin Rutherford, also known as Judge Rutherford, was the second pr…

4440 Braeburn Road, residence complete January 13, 1930. Two months later, the public was introduced to Beth-Sarim in a front-page article in the San Diego Sun titled, “San Diego Mansion — With All Modern Improvements — Awaits Earthly Return of Prophets.” It opened by reporting: “In one of the strangest deeds ever filed in the nation, Rutherford, president of the International Bible Students Association and of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, has put the huge tile-roofed home in fashionable Kensington Heights in perpetual trust for the ancient kings and prophets of Palestine” (emphasis added). The article went on to observe that “Judge Rutherford is intensely prou…

I was an atheist visiting the KH w/my gf who was studying, and I observed them for months and also went to a day of a district convention when it struck me what was most different about JW's was that their behavior improved to the extent that they got together as a group. This I contrasted with every other group I'd been with. To the extent the group grew in size, to that extent it became unruly and more badly behaved.

What is the sign of the Son of man? "Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." (Matthew 24:30) Note: By clicking on the scripture above, it will take you to the following explanations and insights:· beat themselves in grief: Or “mourn.” A person repeatedly beat his hands against his chest to express extreme grief or feelings of guilt and remorse.—Isa 32:12; Na 2:7; Lu 23:48. see: The Greek verb rendered “see” can literally mean to “see an object; look at; behold,” but it can also b…

The Last Days that began in 1914 are now coming to their End ... Would you like to be a Survivor of the Last Days? "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here." (2 Tim 3: 1) The Last Days (pangs of distress) do not last for an exhaustive period of time but do have an ending to them. It's an allotment period of time of 120 years, like the Days of Noah. This allotment is a Conclu…

https://knox.villagesoup.com/2021/10/09/lawsuit-alleges-church-elder-sexually-abused-youth/ Allegations also say other elders threatened to sue family of victim if they referred abuse complaint to law enforcement. A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a local woman who said she was repeatedly sexually assaulted as a child by an elder at the Rockland Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Rockport. The lawsuit was filed Sept. 30 in the Knox County court against the Rockport congregation and Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. The woman said she was molested multiple occasions between 1993 and 1996 when she was 11 to 13 years old. The vic…

I was wondering, If a person that had been disfellowshipped or left the JW Org and now wanted to return. How would a person make it known that they wanted to return ? What would be the proceedure since Kingdom Halls are closed ? How would a person prove that they really wanted to return ? I've always thought it very sad that when an ex-JW entered a KH, that no one would talk to them. I would have thought that it would show love to welcome that person into the meeting. However there are no KH meetings right now. So what would an ex-JW do ? (I'll await all the hate comments from certain people ) This topic is not a 'confession' that I …

As an aside, here, I keep hearing more talk that the WTS is transitioning to no more KH at all, just assembly halls and larger conventions perhaps. It's not just us, but churches, too, have spoken about the success they have had with Zoom in terms of attendance. I fear that it would be a losing decision about the KH's if this rumor is true, but attendance numbers on Zoom have normalized and even risen for some churches. For us, I fear that less physical gathering would result in more drifting, too much video content, less local participation and enthusiasm. Even --dare I say it?-- more marriages to unbelieving mates!

Door-to-door public preaching is an exclusive way because JWs imitate Jesus and the apostles. It is no longer so important to literally follow Jesus ’example. Why? Because of the same love for their neighbors, because of which they went from door to door, they have now stopped going. Strange logic. He mentioned how congregations are now divided into "pastoral groups". This word is so foreign to JW. It is certainly not used in Croatia, because it strongly reminds of the Catholic Church and their terminology.

https://www.forum18.org/archive.php?article_id=2686 Claims that reading Jehovah's Witness texts harms mental health has led to Jehovah's Witness communities being ordered to pay over 3 years' average wages to plaintiffs. A Justice Ministry "expert analysis" was used to make the claims, which succeeded despite 63 per cent of the "analysis" being plagiarised and an academic analysis finding it "cannot be accepted as comprehensive, complete, scientifically based, or in accordance with the normative demands presented to the specialists for investigation". Two married couples who claim their mental health was harmed by reading Jehovah's Witness texts have won co…

"It all goes back to what God promised Abraham. God repeated that promise, to Abraham's grandson, Jacob. In fact, *the scriptures I'm going to give you, prove that JW doctrine is false.* At Gen.28: "10 Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. 11 When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. 12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and *the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.* 13 There above it stood the Lord, and he said: ‘I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the…

So I'm reading yet another apologetic work and this one is coming at things from a Jewish perspective. One thing I just listened to was w/regard to the following passage: 10 He said to them: “Look! When you enter into the city, a man carrying an earthenware water jar will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters. - Lk. 22:10 This was one of many passages I just sort of never thought about because it seemed like the stater coin fishing thing-tax episode - an Obie-wan Kenobi kind of "these are not your droids" moment. Then he said something a bit like the following: https://preachitteachit.org/articles/detail/little-known-facts-about-the…

A B.C. Supreme Court judge has ordered a stay of proceedings in a case in which the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada sought to challenge British Columbia's privacy laws, saying the matter is best decided by the privacy commission. The church had refused to turn over personal records sought by former Jehovah's Witnesses Gregory …

The Great Tribulation, not what you think. The Great Tribulation is a 'timed event'. As in past Patterns of Prophecy, "Jehovah will not do a thing Unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7) Jehovah's servants where given insight to a Prophecy regarding the sudden arrival of the Messiah to inspect the Temple in 29 CE in the Book of Daniel. In 29 CE the people were in expectation and all of them were reasoning in their hearts about John, “May he perhaps be the Christ?” (Luke 3:15) This timed event {prophecy} was thus fulfilled in its entirety from 29 CE to 36 CE. If there is one thing you take away from this arti…

Christ Divinity Explained in John 1:1c John 1:1 is the Beginning of Creation that supersedes Genesis 1:1. For example, we read, "When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?" (Job 38:7) Morning stars are among the first angels or the beginning angels of creation. Morning Stars and all the sons of God are the angels that existed before Abraham was and before the earth itself. After all, it was the newly created earth that they were applauding. Jesus even admitted of coming from the gods whom the word of God came! Jesus answered them: “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said:…

https://jw.support/disfellowshipping/ This is interesting reading. Lets start from those early Christians in the 1st century. When did they become known as Christians ? Was it whilst Jesus was still alive or was it after his resurrection ? Who was it that called those early 'disciples' Christians ? Did they call themselves by that name ? And now an important question. Did any human have the authority to tell another human, "You are no longer a Christian". Was being a 1st century Christian, being a part of a human Organisation ? So was it possible to turn a person out from it ? Did a 1st century person need permission to preach the word…

https://www.youngwitness.com.au/story/7424446/jehovahs-witnesses-join-redress-scheme/ The Jehovah's Witnesses has joined Australia's national redress scheme for child sexual abuse survivors under threat of financial penalties. It is one of 34 institutions signing up following rules brought in by the federal government to withhold funding from and strip the charity status of groups refusing to join. The Jehovah's Witnesses was initially named and shamed for holding out. It flagged its intention to join the scheme in March and has now formally done so. The other institutions include Tennis Australia, St John Ambula…

The real reason this injustice occurs? To protect a facade... the Image of the Organization, as a spotless spiritual paradise (Jer.6:13-14; Eze.13:10; 22:27; 34:2-4; Acts 20:29) (Rev.13:14-15,12,8; Isa.48:1-2; Jer.7:4; Matt.24:23). The innocent who do not honor that false Image of divinity, are slandered and expelled (Prov.17:15; Ex.23:6-7; Ps.12:5; Matt.7:15; 12:7; Jer.23:2; 22:3; Rev.11:7; 17:6; Zech.11:15-17) (Eze.45:9; Isa.59:3-9,14-15; 32:7; Amos 5:12). (Ps.94:21; Rev.20:9; Micah 7:3; 3:10-11; 1Thess.5:3) "My Master is Delaying/Two Witness Policy

2055.... the point of no return. This 'timed event' represents the end of the system of things as we know it. The end of man-made societies, financial institutions, and finally, the dissolving of earthly governments. (Daniel 2:44) Say good-bye to your pension funds and retirement accounts. Even the gold and silver that was saved for bread and food will become something worthless. The Divine Warning has been given. "As for you, son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah says to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.... And you will have to know that I am Jehovah." (Ezekiel 7:2-4) This will not…

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-09-13/jehovah-witnesses-child-abuse-four-corners-investigations/100444320 Since the royal commission exposed the cruel treatment of victims of child abuse within the Jehovah’s Witnesses, little has changed. But in a landmark civil case, former member Amy Whitby is taking on the secretive religious group in court. Eight million Jehovah’s Witnesses around the globe believe that Armageddon is imminent, and the only path to survival is to follow the organisation’s strict rules. A US-based Governing Body of eight men sits at the pinnacle of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organisation. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe these men are ano…

Could they be considered gnostics? *** w05 1/15 p. 15 par. 21 Christ—The Focus of Prophecy ***Only his faithful anointed disciples would discern his royal presence. In the next article, we will see how that insight would have a profound effect on them, culminating in the gathering of millions who would become Jesus’ earthly subjects *** ip-2 chap. 15 p. 228 par. 23 The Barren Woman Rejoices ***23 Verse 13 of Isaiah chapter 54 provides the key—all will be “taught by Jehovah.” Jesus himself applied the words of this verse to his anointed followers. Why Do Jehovah's Witnesses Reject Blood Transfusions? Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians who accepted the 'Blood of Christ' for salvation. The truth never changes and a true Christian should also be mindful of Satan's Challenge to Jehovah about skin in behalf of skin. Therefore, accepting *Blood* from another source or even themselves could be rendered a denial of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In the time of the end known as the Last Days, "Many will cleanse themselves and whiten themselves and will be refined. And the wicked ones will act wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand; but those having insight will understand." (Daniel 12:10) Tru…

So a bad flu came along... scared the world and stopped the "constant feature" of our Kingdom service.....Hmmm I remember so many examples of righteous and brave brothers doing "underground" work in scary countries ... risking and sometimes losing their lives just so that some green bibles and watchtowers could make it to x country under ban. Fast forward to 2020.... JW's turn into Televangelists conveniently in the mid 2010's and all it takes is a bad flu to stop "the constant feature" "The sacrificial smoke" pleasing to Jehovah himself. The territories became so scary they had to stand with carts instead of actually approaching random people and knoc…
