What is the sign of the Son of man?

good health.jpg

"Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." (Matthew 24:30) Note: By clicking on the scripture above, it will take you to the following explanations and insights:·

  • beat themselves in grief: Or “mourn.” A person repeatedly beat his hands against his chest to express extreme grief or feelings of guilt and remorse.—Isa 32:12; Na 2:7; Lu 23:48
  • see: The Greek verb rendered “see” can literally mean to “see an object; look at; behold,” but it can also be used metaphorically, of mental sight, meaning “to discern; perceive.”—Eph 1:18
  • the clouds of heaven: Clouds tend to obstruct vision rather than facilitate it, but observers can “see” with eyes of understanding.—Ac 1:9.

The sign of the Son of man could very well be an epifania, also rendered epifanías or epiphany. That is a manifestation or a revealing of an undergoing prophecy. Notice the following verse: "Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land." (Exodus 23:30)

By applying the following scriptures, how will the new world come about?

"But Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be exposed." (2 Peter 3:10)

"Then, indeed, the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will do away with by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his presence." (2 Thessalonians 2:8)

What's another word for manifestation? Epiphany [ih-pif-uh-nee] a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

The Judgement of the living is pre-millienial during Christ's Presence of the Last Days. Once the wicked deny Christ's Presence as a whole, then comes the revealing phase of Christ's Undeniable Presence.

The Watchtower Society of Jehovah's Wintesses explains this extraordinary event in this manner: "Since Christ has already taken up his kingdom authority with the beginning of his presence in 1914, and since his presence begins a time of judgment, it follows that his revelation in symbolic fire for execution of judgment at the battle of Armageddon must follow very shortly. (Matt. 24:34)" Read more...

God’s appointed Judge is Christ Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus will “judge the living and the dead.” (2 Timothy 4:1) Who are “the living” that will be judged? How will the dead come to life again on “the inhabited earth”?

Jesus Judges “the Living”

We are now nearing the foretold end of the present system of things, when God will destroy all elements of corrupt human society  and remove the wicked. Survivors of this system’s end are “the living” who will be judged.—Revelation 7:9-14; 19:11-16.

During that period of judgment, which will last 1,000 years, Christ Jesus along with 144,000 men and women resurrected to life in heaven will rule over the earth. They will serve as kings and priests, administering the benefits of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice and progressively elevating faithful humans to physical and mental perfection.—Revelation 5:10; 14:1-4; 20:4-6.

So please give us a straight answer. Who is right, You or the Watchtower / JW Org ?

I don't see a link to the Watchtower article for this. Shame as it would be nice to read it in context.

I think right now there is a big difference between the 'wicked' and the 'unrighteous'.

"But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of *angels* ("messengers" Mal 2:7; 1 Pet 2:5,9),  to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfectto Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel."  Heb 12:22-24

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesseslet us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us"  Heb 12:1

3 "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

"When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them."

"Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them."  Rev 11:3,7,11,12

"For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are  asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."  1 Thess 4:15-17

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.  Rom 8:18,19

"Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen."  Rev 1:7

"Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."  Matt 24:30

"But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:  'Let all the *angels* of God worship Him.'”   And of the angels He says: Who makes His angels spirits  And His ministers a flame of fire.” Heb 1:6,7

Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the *angels* of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”  John 1:50,51
