... and we all know historically how the Germans love to pay back, when you give them an opportunity ... Sounds like they are selling the debt so when it defaults, 1.) plausible deniability, and 2.) the phone can be disconnected, so to speak. ...same thing with the publications you mentioned.. Blame it on the Germans!

It sounds SO familiar.

Free money, and LOTS OF IT, changes everybody.

This will probably become a talking point within a few weeks. Did you know that brothers who have Loans to the WTBTS of PA are getting notices that those loans are being transferred to a German entity? Don't know if it's related, but this might be related to something that has been known for a long time: the Elder's handbook (Flock book) is no longer published or printed in the United States by either the WTBTS of PA, NY or the CCJW. It's no longer a US product.

I have no idea what the reasons were/are, but brought it up to you in case you had heard anything, as I know you have taken an interest in this "follow the money" mantra. The book thing could have been to keep it out of the Library of Congress, or some such other reason.

That comes under 1.) plausible deniability. ... not because it is bad association to have the Society's Publications share a shelf with the Braille Edition of PLAYBOY magazine, or something equally silly and groaningly dumb.

Yes... "Follow the Money" ... and if you find out where it is going, it always tells the Truth.

Come now now, not all Germans are like this. The actions of a few does not define the masses, Rook. That is like saying all of Modern Day is Israel is for Benjamin Netanyahu (The man who is hates and is scared of Iran) when a good percentage of the Israelis are against him and do not support him, yet the MSM defines all regardless.

That being said, regarding Germans, this comment reminds me of a situation in Hamburg back in 2017, again, good Germans who were against the bad Germans, with a few Westerners caught in the middle, one notable Canadian has to turn her shirt inside out and braid her hair while hiding to remain incognito.

      The National Secular Society has urged Britain's charity regulators to ensure the restructuring of Jehovah's Witnesses (JW) charities does not obstruct victims of child abuse from claiming compensation.
      The NSS has raised the issue with the Charity Commission for England and Wales and the Scottish charity regulator, OSCR, after a report on BBC Radio 4's Sunday programme this week.
      The programme

As part of a significant restructuring of the organisation, each congregation is being asked to dissolve its charitable status and merge – along with its assets – with the Kingdom Hall Trust. The trust is a registered charity whose aims include being a "custodian trustee holding title to freehold and leasehold properties acquired as places of worship".
      The assets mentioned on the Sunday programme included kingdom halls, which are used for worship and meetings.
      An abuse survivor and lawyers who spoke to the programme expressed concern that such a restructuring could leave JW charities unable to pay potential liabilities.
      A number of JW churches worldwide have been subject to investigations regarding their handling of sexual abuse allegations in recent years. In Australia, JW organisations have consolidated and sold properties worth millions of pounds amid a series of legal claims and a damning report from a royal commission.
      NSS comment
      NSS chief executive Stephen Evans said: "It is clearly not in the public interest for charities to be permitted to restructure in ways that may impede victims and survivors of abuse within these communities from claiming compensation.
      "We therefore urge the Charity Commission to use all available powers to ensure that the restructuring of JW charities does not impede abuse victims' and survivors' ability to obtain settlements."
      Jehovah's Witnesses and abuse in Britain
      JW communities' handling of abuse allegations will come under increased scrutiny next month, when the Independent Inquiry on Child Sexual Abuse is due to conduct hearings on the issue.

      If a JW votes in a national election ... will there be congregational sanctions against him?
      The last thing I heard was in 1999 in the Watchtower that it had changed that we were now allowed to follow our consciences, in voting quoted here:
      " Questions From Readers
      How do Jehovah’s Witnesses view voting?
      There are clear principles set out in the Bible that enable servants of God to take a proper view of this matter. However, there appears to be no principle against the practice of voting itself. For example, there is no reason why a board of directors should not take a vote in order to arrive at decisions affecting their corporation. Congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses often make decisions about meeting times and the use of congregation funds by voting with a show of hands.
      What, though, of voting in political elections? Of course, in some democratic lands, as many as 50 percent of the population do not turn out to vote on election day. As for Jehovah’s Witnesses, they do not interfere with the right of others to vote; neither do they in any way campaign against political elections. They respect and cooperate with the authorities who are duly elected in such elections. (Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) As to whether they will personally vote for someone running in an election, each one of Jehovah’s Witnesses makes a decision based on his Bible-trained conscience and an understanding of his responsibility to God and to the State. (Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) In making this personal decision, the Witnesses consider a number of factors.
      First, Jesus Christ said of his followers: “They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.” (Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) Jehovah’s Witnesses take this principle seriously. Being “no part of the world,” they are neutral in the political affairs of the world.—Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. .
      Second, the apostle Paul referred to himself as an “ambassador” representing Christ to the people of his day. (Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Christ Jesus is now the enthroned King of God’s heavenly Kingdom, and they, like ambassadors, must announce this to the nations. (Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) Ambassadors are expected to be neutral and not to interfere in the internal affairs of the countries to which they are sent. As representatives of God’s heavenly Kingdom, Jehovah’s Witnesses feel a similar obligation not to interfere in the politics of the countries where they reside.
      A third factor to consider is that those who have a part in voting a person into office may become responsible for what he does. (Compare Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. , The New English Bible.) Christians have to consider carefully whether they want to shoulder that responsibility.
      Fourth, Jehovah’s Witnesses greatly value their Christian unity. (Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) When religions get involved in politics, the result is often division among their members. In imitation of Jesus Christ, Jehovah’s Witnesses avoid becoming involved in politics and thus maintain their Christian unity.—Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. .
      Fifth and finally, their keeping out of politics gives Jehovah’s Witnesses freeness of speech to approach people of all political persuasions with the important message of the Kingdom.—Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. .
      In view of the Scriptural principles outlined above, in many lands Jehovah’s Witnesses make a personal decision not to vote in political elections, and their freedom to make that decision is supported by the law of the land. What, though, if the law requires citizens to vote? In such a case, each Witness is responsible to make a conscientious, Bible-based decision about how to handle the situation. If someone decides to go to the polling booth, that is his decision. What he does in the polling booth is between him and his Creator.
      The Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. , said: “Where Caesar makes it compulsory for citizens to vote . . . [Witnesses] can go to the polls and enter the voting booths. It is here that they are called upon to mark the ballot or write in what they stand for. The voters do what they will with their ballots. So here in the presence of God is where his witnesses must act in harmony with his commandments and in accordance with their faith. It is not our responsibility to instruct them what to do with the ballot.”
      What if a Christian woman’s unbelieving husband insists that she present herself to vote? Well, she is subject to her husband, just as Christians are subject to the superior authorities. (Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) If she obeys her husband and goes to the polling booth, that is her personal decision. No one should criticize her.—Compare Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. .
      What of a country where voting is not mandated by law but feelings run high against those who do not go to the voting booth—perhaps they are exposed to physical danger? Or what if individuals, while not legally obliged to vote, are severely penalized in some way if they do not go to the polling booth? In these and similar situations, a Christian has to make his own decision. “Each one will carry his own load.”—Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. .
      There may be people who are stumbled when they observe that during an election in their country, some Witnesses of Jehovah go to the polling booth and others do not. They may say, ‘Jehovah’s Witnesses are not consistent.’ People should recognize, though, that in matters of individual conscience such as this, each Christian has to make his own decision before Jehovah God.—Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. .
      Whatever personal decisions Jehovah’s Witnesses make in the face of different situations, they take care to preserve their Christian neutrality and freeness of speech. In all things, they rely on Jehovah God to strengthen them, give them wisdom, and help them avoid compromising their faith in any way. Thus they show confidence in the words of the psalmist: “You are my crag and my stronghold; and for the sake of your name you will lead me and conduct me.”—Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ."
      Now, all this is well and good .... but if a Brother's conscience will allow him to vote in national elections ... will he be chastised, sanctioned, or punished for the free exercise OF his conscience, by the CCJW ?

      So lets try to be a bit positive.  A question.  How is the GB and the JW Org moving forward SPIRITUALLY ?
      What progress has it made in the last fifty years ?   I'm not talking about physical things, not buildings, not books, not meeting times........
      I'm talking about purely spiritual matters.  Spiritual guidance, true spiritual love from the top of the Org down, mercy, understanding of people, serving the congregants as a way of serving God Himself (as Jesus did), showing patience without having weakness, making true adjustments according to true scripture not according to man's guesses.
      You may of course comment as to what you feel would make for good spiritual progress within the JW Org too.

      Norway is the great catalyst that will force the GB to start thinking about basic human rights, as currently there is a lot of discussion in the Norwegian Government about " ... Why are we giving the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society Norwegian dollars (Kroners) every year from Tax money for their charities ... for EACH and every of the approximately 112,000 JWs in Norway (paraphrased), when they prohibit their members to vote"... which THEY consider to be an inalienable, and non-negotiable human right of all peoples, everywhere.
      The WTB&TS is currently being governed by the Lawyers, Accountants, and the Finances department, with the GB not admitting being personally responsible for ANYTHING.
      What we consider "reasonable", they consider EXTREMIST, and many European nations give tax money to ALL legitimate churches, without restriction on how they spend it.
      By violating what these governments' and peoples' basic understanding on what constitutes extremism, soon, if not already, it is going to affect the flow of cash into the Society's Treasury.
      One of several major concerns of the Governing Body is to not hemorrhage money, as it has been doing for years in the constant Child Sexual Abuse court cases.
      THIS is what will drive any change .... not love ... not justice ...not fairness .... MONEY!
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      By the way .... has the Society recently decided that voting is a matter of personal conscience?
      What I have read is so "weasel worded", I cannot tell.

      Louez Jéhovah, Alliance de l'Amour fidèle en action
      Je veux louer Jéhovah ;
      que tout ce qui est en moi loue son saint nom.
      Je veux louer Jéhovah ;
      je ne veux jamais oublier tout ce qu’il a fait.
      Il pardonne toutes tes fautes
      et guérit tous tes maux,
      il rachète ta vie de la fosse
      et te couronne de son amour fidèle et de sa miséricorde.
      Il te rassasie de bonnes choses  toute ta vie,
      afin que ta jeunesse se renouvelle comme celle d’un aigle.
      Jéhovah agit avec droiture et justice
      en faveur de tous les opprimés.
      Il a fait connaître ses chemins à Moïse,
      ses actes aux fils d’Israël.
      Jéhovah est miséricordieux et compatissant,
      il est lent à se mettre en colère et abondant en amour fidèle.
      Il ne fait pas de reproches constamment
      et ne garde pas de ressentiment pour toujours.
      Il n’agit pas avec nous selon nos péchés
      et ne nous rend pas ce que nous méritons pour nos fautes.
      Car autant les cieux sont plus hauts que la terre,
      autant son amour fidèle envers ceux qui le craignent est immense.
      Autant le levant est loin du couchant,
      autant il éloigne de nous nos transgressions.
      Comme un père fait miséricorde à ses fils,
      Jéhovah fait miséricorde à ceux qui le craignent.
      Car il sait bien de quoi nous sommes formés,
      il se souvient que nous sommes poussière.
      Quant au mortel, ses jours sont comme ceux de l’herbe.
      Il fleurit comme la fleur des champs.
      Puis un vent souffle, et elle n’est plus,
      comme si elle n’avait jamais été là.
      Mais l’amour fidèle de Jéhovah est éternel
      envers ceux qui le craignent,
      et sa justice s’étend aux enfants de leurs enfants,
      à ceux qui respectent son alliance
      et à ceux qui prennent soin d’obéir à ses ordres.
      Jéhovah a solidement établi son trône dans les cieux,
      et sa royauté s’exerce sur tout.
      Louez Jéhovah, vous, tous ses anges extrêmement puissants
      qui, obéissant à sa voix, exécutez sa parole.
      Louez Jéhovah, vous, toutes ses armées,
      ses ministres, qui faites sa volonté.
      Louez Jéhovah, vous, toutes ses œuvres,
      dans tous les lieux où il domine.
      Que tout mon être loue Jéhovah !

      Je veux louer Jéhovah !
      Ô Jéhovah mon Dieu, tu es très grand.
      Tu es revêtu de majesté et de splendeur
      Tu es enveloppé de lumière comme d’un vêtement ;
      tu étends les cieux comme une toile de tente.
      Il pose les poutres de ses chambres hautes dans les eaux en haut,
      des nuages il fait son char,
      il avance sur les ailes du vent.
      Il fait de ses anges des esprits,
      de ses ministres un feu dévorant.
      Il a établi la terre sur ses fondations;
      jamais elle ne sera enlevée de son emplacement.
      Tu l’as couverte d’eaux profondes comme d’un vêtement.
      Les eaux se tenaient au-dessus des montagnes.
      À ta réprimande, elles ont pris la fuite ;
      au bruit de ton tonnerre, elles se sont enfuies tout affolées
       — des montagnes se sont élevées et des vallées se sont creusées —
      vers le lieu que tu as établi pour elles.
      Tu as fixé une frontière qu’elles ne doivent pas franchir,
      pour qu’elles ne couvrent plus la terre.
      Il envoie des sources dans les vallées ;
      elles coulent entre les montagnes.
      Elles fournissent de l’eau à toutes les bêtes sauvages des champs ;
      les ânes sauvages y apaisent leur soif.
      Au-dessus d’elles se perchent les oiseaux du ciel ;
      ils chantent parmi l’épais feuillage.
      Depuis tes chambres hautes, tu abreuves les montagnes.
      La terre est rassasiée du fruit de tes œuvres.
      Il fait pousser l’herbe pour le bétail
      et la végétation pour l’usage des humains,
      pour faire produire à la terre de la nourriture :
      le vin qui réjouit le cœur de l’homme,
      l’huile qui fait briller le visage
      et le pain qui réconforte le cœur du mortel.
      Les arbres de Jéhovah sont rassasiés,
      les cèdres du Liban qu’il a plantés.
      Les oiseaux y font des nids.
      La maison de la cigogne est dans les genévriers.
      Les hautes montagnes sont pour les chèvres de montagne,
      les rochers sont le refuge des damans.
      Il a fait la lune pour marquer les périodes fixées ;
      le soleil sait parfaitement quand se coucher.
      Tu amènes l’obscurité, et la nuit tombe,
      moment où tous les animaux sauvages de la forêt s’animent.
      Les jeunes lions rugissent après leur proie
      et demandent à Dieu leur nourriture.
      Quand le soleil se lève,
      ils se retirent dans leurs tanières, où ils se couchent.
      L’homme va travailler,
      et il peine jusqu’au soir.
      Que tes œuvres sont nombreuses, ô Jéhovah !
      Tu les as toutes faites avec sagesse.
      La terre est pleine de tes productions.
      Il y a la mer, si grande et si vaste,
      qui grouille de choses vivantes, petites et grandes.
      Là circulent les navires,
      et aussi Léviathan, que tu as formé pour qu’il s’y amuse.
      Eux tous comptent sur toi
      pour recevoir leur nourriture en temps voulu.
      Ce que tu leur donnes, ils le ramassent.
      Tu ouvres ta main, et ils sont rassasiés de bonnes choses.
      Tu détournes ton attention, et ils sont perturbés.
      Si tu leur retires l’esprit, ils meurent et retournent à la poussière.
      Si tu envoies ton esprit, ils sont créés,
      et tu renouvelles la surface du sol.
      La gloire de Jéhovah durera éternellement.
      Jéhovah se réjouira de ses œuvres.
      Il regarde la terre, et elle tremble ;
      il touche les montagnes, et elles fument.
      Je veux chanter pour Jéhovah toute ma vie,
      je veux chanter des louanges à mon Dieu aussi longtemps que je vivrai.
      Que mes pensées lui soient agréables.
      Je me réjouirai au sujet de Jéhovah.
      Les pécheurs disparaîtront de la terre
      et les méchants n’existeront plus.
      Je veux louer Jéhovah ! Louez Yah.

      Remerciez Jéhovah, louez son nom

      Remerciez Jéhovah, louez son nom ;
      parmi les peuples, faites connaître ses actions grandioses !
      Chantez pour lui, chantez-lui des louanges,
      méditez sur tous ses actes prodigieux.
      Soyez fiers de son saint nom.
      Que le cœur de ceux qui recherchent Jéhovah se réjouisse.
      Recherchez Jéhovah et sa force.
      Cherchez constamment son visage.
      Souvenez-vous des actes prodigieux qu’il a accomplis,
      de ses miracles et des jugements qu’il a prononcés,
      vous, descendants de son serviteur Abraham,
      vous, fils de Jacob, ceux qu’il a choisis !
      Il est Jéhovah notre Dieu.
      Ses jugements s’appliquent sur toute la terre.
      Pour toujours, il se souvient de son alliance,
      pendant mille générations, de la promesse qu’il a faite,
      de l’alliance qu’il a conclue avec Abraham
      et du serment qu’il a fait à Isaac,
      serment qu’il a établi comme décret pour Jacob
      et comme alliance permanente pour Israël,
      en disant : « Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan ;
      ce sera ta part d’héritage. »
      C’était lorsqu’ils étaient en petit nombre,
      oui, peu nombreux, et qu’ils étaient étrangers dans le pays.
      Ils circulaient d’une nation à l’autre,
      d’un royaume vers un autre peuple.
      Il ne laissa aucun homme les opprimer;
      pour eux, il réprimanda des rois,
      en disant : « Ne touchez pas à mes oints
      et ne faites aucun mal à mes prophètes. »
      Il appela une famine sur le pays ;
      il les priva de pain.
      Il envoya en avant d’eux un homme,
      Joseph, qui fut vendu comme esclave.
      On lui lia les pieds par des entraves,
      on lui mit le cou dans les fers ;
      la déclaration de Jéhovah, c’est ce qui l’affina,
      jusqu’au moment où la parole de Dieu s’accomplit.
      Le roi ordonna de le libérer,
      le chef des peuples le relâcha.
      Il l’établit maître de son palais,
      chef sur tous ses biens,
      pour qu’il ait autorité sur ses princes comme il lui semblait bon
      et qu’il enseigne la sagesse aux aînés.
      Alors Israël vint en Égypte,
      et Jacob résida comme étranger au pays de Cham.
      Dieu rendit son peuple très fécond ;
      il le rendit plus fort que ses adversaires,
      dont il laissa le cœur changer pour qu’ils haïssent son peuple,
      pour qu’ils conspirent contre ses serviteurs.
      Il envoya son serviteur Moïse,
      et Aaron, qu’il avait choisi.
      Ils accomplirent ses signes parmi eux,
      ses miracles au pays de Cham.
      Il envoya l’obscurité, et le pays s’enténébra;
      ils ne se rebellèrent pas contre ses paroles.
      Il changea leurs eaux en sang
      et tua leurs poissons.
      Leur pays fut envahi de grenouilles,
      jusque dans les chambres royales.
      Il ordonna aux taons de les envahir
      et aux moustiques d’infester leurs territoires.
      Il changea leur pluie en grêle
      et envoya la foudre sur leur pays.
      Il frappa leurs vignes et leurs figuiers
      et brisa les arbres de leur territoire.
      Il ordonna que les criquets les envahissent,
      de jeunes criquets sans nombre.
      Ils dévorèrent toute la végétation du pays,
      et ils dévorèrent les produits du sol.
      Puis il abattit tout premier-né dans leur pays,
      le début de leur puissance procréatrice.
      Il fit sortir son peuple chargé d’argent et d’or;
      et parmi ses tribus, personne ne trébucha.
      Quand ils partirent, les Égyptiens se réjouirent,
      car la terreur qu’Israël inspirait s’était emparée d’eux.
      Il déploya un nuage pour dissimuler son peuple,
      et un feu pour l’éclairer la nuit.
      Ils demandèrent, et il fit venir des cailles ;
      il les rassasiait du pain du ciel.
      Il ouvrit un rocher, et les eaux coulèrent ;
      elles coulèrent dans le désert comme un fleuve.
      Car il se souvenait de la promesse sainte qu’il avait faite à son serviteur Abraham.
      Il fit donc sortir son peuple dans l’allégresse,
      ceux qu’il avait choisis, dans un cri de joie.
      Il leur donna les terres des nations ;
      ils héritèrent de ce que d’autres peuples avaient produit en peinant,
      afin qu’ils respectent ses décrets
      et obéissent à ses lois.
      Louez Yah !
