https://www.christianpost.com/news/village-threatens-expel-protestant-families-beliefs-mexico.html Two Protestant families from indigenous communities in central Mexico have been living with no access to water, drainage and government benefit programs for a year after they were ostracized for refusing to renounce their faith, and now the community leaders are threatening to expel them, according to a report. The two families in La Mesa Limantitla village in the Huasteca region of Hidalgo state, who had earlier been told they would face forced displacement if they did not give their financial contributions for local Roman Catholic festivals or participate in thei…

f 21 Jehovah's Witnesses convicted of "extremism" charges since late July 2020, six were given jail terms and 13 suspended sentences. Receiving a suspended sentence means a convicted person must live under restrictions specified by the judge, regularly register with probation authorities, and avoid conviction for any other offence during the probationary period or risk being sent to prison. "A suspended sentence means that you need to live under stress for many years," Jehovah's Witnesses note. A total of 21 Jehovah's Witnesses have been convicted of "extremism" charges since late July 2020. They include the oldest Jehovah's Witness yet to be found guilty of alleged …

Moscow — Russian authorities have carried out dozens of raids and detained several people as they pursue a new criminal case accusing the country's Jehovah's Witnesses of extremism, the national Investigative Committee said Tuesday. The Christian denomination is suspected of illegally resuming its work in Russia despite an official ban. The country's Supreme Court ruled in 2017 that the group, founded in the United States and claiming almost 9 million followers globally, was an "extremist" organization and ordered it to disband. The decision led to the conviction of scores of followers across the country. Read more: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/russia-jehovahs-w…

WT GB theology, supposedly biblically grounded, and most important, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as GB say, explains why people suffer, why there is great evil in the world, and especially why the followers of Christ are subjected to persecution, especially from 1914 till now . In addition to the general explanation that humans are imperfect because of Adam and Eve sin, there is also the interpretation how satan and demons generate evil and are behind all attacks on JW members. Recently, the focus has been on Russia, and still is. For example, this two quotes say: During the 2019 annual meeting, Brother Mark Sanderson of the Governing Body delivered the talk…

How were Jehovah's Witnesses taught in 1941 about Armageddon? And marriage/children? Does that remind you of 1975? Or of some periods of time in JW teachings before and after these years? Don’t be bored and find it difficult to review the statements written in the main magazine The Watchtower, the 1941 edition. And the newly published book of the same year by the President of the Society, Judge Rutherford. The book is called Children. The author dedicated this book, as well as many others, to the Creator. Today, after such a long time lag, we may ask, could all these doctrines and teachings have been accepted by the Creator to whom they were dedicated? And we may as…

I know my presence here is intolerable to JWs. Many times, I have thought of leaving and never returning. (Matt 10:14) Although, I do appreciate those who visit this forum and believe in the words of Christ over the words of men. (John 8:31; 2 Tim 4:3) I admit also that I have noticed fleeting remarks made by you and a few other JWs, who have expressed some empathy for those not in the organization. But this thought conflicts with your teachings, that only those faithful to the organization, will “live forever”. (Exod 23:13,24,32; Isa 57:13; Rev 13:1,2,4 ) It must create a personal struggle for some who care to reach out, but still fully believe that all outside t…

Doctors received the go-ahead to urgently give the 15-year-old blood when she was just hours from death. At the High Court on Tuesday, November 10, Sir James Munby said the girl's life was in imminent danger, so he had rushed to make his decision, reports the Daily Mail. He explained: "The blood transfusion is imperatively needed and within a timescale measured in hours, and not days. A 1970s ruling says Jehovah's Witnesses' belie…

The presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party Akua Donkor has vowed to sack all members of the Jehovah's Witness Church from all government institutions and send them to the markets. According to her, effective December 7, if she wins the presidential election, there is no way Jehovah's Witness members will work in the government sector during her regime. She explained that it beats her imagination how a group of people whose religious principles frown on voting to elect a government will eventually benefit from that government after others have voted to form it. Akua Donkor said this in an interview with Kofi Adoma, stressing that the religious gr…

“Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Rev 21:2 It is interesting how our past nagging questions we may have had as JWs over the years, resurface once we learn of the true understanding of God’s Word. I once asked an elder before a meeting, if he could explain Rev 21:2. How would the holy city, a “heavenly” organization of God, Jesus, the angels and the 144,000, come down to earth from heaven? It is taught that not even Jesus will return to the earth after Armageddon, and certainly not the “144,000” anointed, sealed in heaven. (Rev 14:1) (Gen 28:12; John 1:51; Heb 1:6; 9…

T. THOMAS — Residents will soon be able to access the Watchtower magazine with a few keystrokes on the Jehovah’s Witnesses website. That’s because the a special edition of the magazine entitled “What is God’s Kingdom” will be distributed in both print and electronic format as part of a global campaign that kicks off Sunday and throughout the month of November. “The answer to that question has captivated the attention of people from many different faiths for centuries,” and Jehovah’s Witnesses will distribute the magazine to the general public, business owners, local and national government officials as well as court officials, according to Javier De La Rosa, a l…

In addition, he said, Jehovah’s Witnesses are banned in 34 countries and it is reportedly difficult or illegal to run a humanist organization in over 30 countries. Shaheed said the right to legal identity and citizenship has also been stripped because of religion and beliefs. “Shia Muslims in Bahrain, Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, and Jehovah’s Witnesses in Eritrea and Russia have had their citizenship revoked or denied on the basis of their religious identity,” he said. “In Vietnam, Hmong and Montagnard Christians have been unable to secure the necessary `house register’ documentation for citizenship. Non-Muslims may not obtain citizenship in Maldives.” In …

Reading the news could make a person ill right now. I've joked with Tom how Armageddon could be ten years away yet, but looking at world conditions it could easily happen today or tomorrow. What I find so disturbing is the 99.9% dishonesty everywhere. All politicians / governments. All religions. Even most ordinary people cannot be fully trusted. It is very sad that not one religion can be trusted to give honest answers to honest questions. It is not God's fault of course. Even when God had His own Nation, those people turned their backs on Him at times. And now it seems as if all religions have also turned their backs on God and Christ. My hope is that God w…

Thought for the day: Jehovah is God's name. It was originally in the Bible in over 7,000 places but has been removed by various bodies due to superstition etc. Micah 4:5 For all the people will walk, each in the name of it's god, But we will walk in the name of Jehovah our God forever and ever.

West Lakeland Township officials are considering purchasing the former Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall building and turning it into its town hall. The 2,300-square-foot building is at the southwest corner of the intersection of Stagecoach Trail and 10th Street North. It is listed for sale for $360,000; Petersen Properties has the listing. The town board currently meets at Oak-Land Middle School in Lake Elmo and rents office space at the Joshua Taylor building in Lake Elmo. Township supervisor Gary Horning said buying the building makes sense. He said West Lakeland officials sometimes have difficulty securing the school for its monthly town board meetings. …

I figured I would start a topic on "peace and security' since so much news constantly comes out regarding this theme lately: Paul in his letter to the Thessalonians. He draws attention to “Jehovah’s day.” As used here, “Jehovah’s day” refers to the period that will start with the destruction of false religion and will culminate in the war of Armageddon. However, just before that day of Jehovah begins, world leaders will be saying “Peace and security!” This may refer to one event or to a series of events. Nations may think that they are close to solving some of their big problems. You may want to "Follow" this thread up on the upper right hand side to g…

A court in Russia has refused to release a Jehovah's Witness, Danish citizen Dennis Christensen, who was sentenced to six years in prison on extremism charges that have been condemned by rights groups in Russia and abroad. The Jehovah’s Witnesses' website said that a court in Russia's western region of Kursk on October 26 refused to replace Christensen's unserved term with a fine despite the fact that the same court had approved such a move in June. Christensen was arrested in May 2017 and sentenced in February 2019. On June 23, the Lgov district court paroled Christensen after he served half of his sentence and ordered him to pay a fine of 400,000 rubles (…
